Excellent Schools Through Local Control

Welcome Back to School!

Congratulations and Welcome to the  New Principal at Malibu High School

Congratulations and Welcome David Jackson the new principal at Malibu High School.

Principal Jackson will serve as the interim principal for MHS for the 2014-2015 school year.  He has extensive experience in secondary and post-secondary education.  He retired in 2007 after serving as Principal of Calabasas High School for two years.  Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Principal at Agoura High School in the Las Virgenes Unified School District; Principal at Royal High School in the Simi Valley Unified School District; and Assistant Principal at John Burroughs High School, David Starr Jordan Junior High School, and Luther Burbank Junior High School in the Burbank Unified School District.

Principal Jackson is well-versed in best practices for running a comprehensive high school, including those addressing core curriculum, VAPA, athletics, special education, student organizations, master scheduling, and school safety.  Also, He has a knack for identifying a school’s short- and long-term needs, and then effectively planning a course of action that will benefit the students, staff, and community.  He collaborates with school personnel to establish clear lines of responsibility and holds everyone, including himself, to a high standard.
