Pt. Dume Continuing Service Award
On Friday May 9th, Point Dume Marine Science School PTA hosted their 19th Annual Honorary Service Award Luncheon. The luncheon is held every year to honor and recognize several amazing people, who have given their time, energy, and effort in helping make Pt. Dume a great school.
In addition, Craig Foster, President of AMPS, was honored and given the Continuing Service Award for his outstanding effort in improving and seeking to create an independent, locally controlled Malibu Unified School District. "It is a huge honor to receive the Continuing Service Award from the Point Dume PTA and I’m humbled and deeply grateful for their thoughtfulness and kindness in thinking of me."
Congratulations to all of you! We greatly appreciate and thank you for your continuing service and effort in making Malibu schools the best they can be!

Event Recap: Fiesta Malibu
On Sunday, May 4th, AMPS was at the Fiesta Malibu. It was a fantastic turnout with more than 1,000 people roaming around the Juan Cabrillo grounds.
Both, kids and parents, played carnival games, jousted each other at the Gladiator Joust, blasted away in laser tag, got their face painted, listened to live music, ate delicious cuisine, and enjoyed the rest of the festivities and activities that day had to offer. It was a day filled with excitement, laughter, and all around fun!
Thank you to everyone, who stopped by the AMPS booth and said "hi." We were so happy to participate and sponsor such a great event, celebrating both the children and local Malibu community!

Success, failure and the drive to keep creating October 2013, by Christopher Emdin, Ted Talks
What do rap shows, barbershop banter and Sunday services have in common? As Christopher Emdin says, they all hold the secret magic to enthrall and teach at the same time — and it’s a skill we often don't teach to educators. The science advocate (and cofounder of Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S. with the GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan) offers a vision to make the classroom come alive.
